Benefits: Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enroll in the Health Insurance benefit?

To enroll in the Health ICHRA plan, you must achieve and maintain full time status, which is defined by 130 hours worked in a previous month, or 130 average in two previous months. Once you meet this requirement, HR will email you with instructions on how to apply through Take Command. For any questions, contact us at humanresources@bloomerhealth.com.

What does the commuter benefit entail?

The program consists of Transit and Parking benefit components. Each can be funded for up to $315 per month by pretax dollars deducted from your payroll. This is an opportunity to not pay taxes on your commuting (e.g. monthly transit pass, monthly parking pass). Our Commuter Benefits vendor is called Health Equity. You will need the portal to elect, manage, and track your funds (we will provide details for those who are eligible).

How does Paid Sick Leave work?

W-2 employees are eligible to receive three statutory leave benefits required under New York State and New York City law. Bloomer tracks and administers these through Paylocity. This section is the formal policy text. New Sick Leave Policies will be effective June 1, 2026 and more formal guidance will be sent out shortly.

The three benefits are:
• NYS Paid Sick Leave — paid time off when you are sick or caring for a family member.
• NYC ESSTA — additional unpaid time off, extended to all W-2 employees statewide.
• NYC Prenatal Leave — paid time off for prenatal appointments, for NYC-designated employees.

How do I opt out of the 401K plan?

If would like to adjust your contribution amount, or if you do not want to be enrolled in a 401(k), you must log in to Human Interest and opt out. Please double check your preferences to ensure you are enrolled or opted out as preferred. If you have any questions, contact support@humaninterest.com.
